Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 9 lasagna noodles (whole grain if preferred)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 onion , chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- - Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- - Cook noodles in a large pot of boiling water according to package instructions (usually 8-10 minutes), drain, and set aside.
- - Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion for 3-4 minutes, add beef, salt, and pepper; cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes, then stir in marinara.
- - In a baking dish, layer 3 noodles, 1/3 beef mixture, 1/3 ricotta, and 1/3 mozzarella; repeat twice, ending with mozzarella; bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes until bubbly.
- - Serve 1 piece per portion warm.
